Cinema Sofa Bed: the Motion
The Motion is our cinema sofa bed: a sofa for film nights that turns into a sleepover bed without a fold-out frame. Every section has an electric extending chaise, so you put your feet up at the touch of a button, and with all sections extended the whole piece becomes one large sleeping surface.
It is a different idea from a classic sofa bed. There is no thin mattress folded into the base; the sofa and the bed are the same sections, in a different position.
How It Works
Each section of the Motion extends on its own, electrically. Extend one or two for an L-shape or a U-shape to lounge in, or extend them all for a large cinema sofa or a sleepover bed. You operate it with a Bluetooth remote control that sits in a sleeve on the side of the arm.
The sections move on wheels, so the Motion needs a reasonably level, fairly hard floor. Low-pile carpet is fine.
Comfort as a Sofa
The headrests adjust by hand and give proper head support, even if you are 180 cm or taller. Cup holders are built into the arms.
Under the upholstery sits a solid wood and plywood frame, glued, screwed and reinforced at every structural point. The seat is built on zig-zag metal springs with reflex foam, and the sofa stands on dark-stained solid wood feet.
Upholstery: Water-Blocked Velvet
The Motion comes in fabric only: Zoya and Salvador velvets, soft to the touch, stain-resistant and water-blocked, so a spilt drink stays on the surface and can be blotted with a tissue. Salvador is a matte velvet tested to 100,000 Martindale cycles; Zoya has a subtle mottled effect and is tested to 50,000 cycles. Both are pet-friendly and clean with water.

The seats are delivered packed separately; the backs slot into position when you set the sofa up. You will also need a power socket nearby.
Cinema Sofa Bed: Movie Nights and Guest Bed in One
A cinema sofa bed makes a media room earn its floor space twice. In the evening the Motion is a sofa you watch films on with your feet up; when guests stay, you extend every section and it becomes a sleepover bed.
If you mainly want recline and a powered headrest rather than a bed, look at the cinema sofas or the electric recliner sofas.
Pricing
The Motion starts from €2,200 and runs to about €3,000, depending on the configuration. Every sofa bed is made to order, with a lead time of 12 to 16 weeks.
Delivery is charged separately (€210 to €450, set by the pallet class of the specific variant and shown on the product page) and covers the Netherlands, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. The frame carries a 10-year warranty; motors and electronics are covered for 2 years.
